ENTRY 87: Best Birthday Present Evaarrrr
Happy Birthday to me! Yep, yesterday was my 22nd birthday, and all in all the day was quite uneventful, as usual. No real complaints here, though; I was able to record the fifth and final song for my album! That's right folks, after ALLL this time, The Powers EP is complete! I'm so proud of the way it turned out. Now I just have to get the songs published and away I go!

ENTRY 86: Okay, I Admit It...
Yep, I have a problem with trusting my parents. Turns out that I was just being overly paranoid about recent circumstances (see Entry 84). Turns out that I had forgotten my box of cheques on the dining room table and had never bothered to check there when I was looking for them, and my blue pair of jeans were in the wash. I felt quite ashamed of myself and apologized to my parents. i don't know how receptive they were to it, though...
Anyway this weekend doesn't promise to be a great one. My parents are going away to Niagra Falls, but I have to look after my little brother Malcolm while they are away. So I'll be cooped up in the house most of the time, which actually might not be all that bad, since it's supposed to rain a lot over the next few days.
Last weekend was great, however. I had the whole house to myself (my little bro and my Dad were away at Boy Scouts camp, and my mom went to a friend's cottage) so I had quite the amount of freedom. Friday was quite a bust, but Saturday I joined my twin bro at The Super Market, which is this throw-back Hip-Hop club downtown. Great music and great company and great ladies, so naturally I had a great time LOL.
More good news: the album is almost done! One more song to go, and I was able to work out all the kinks so I'm completely read to record it. Just have to call up my man T.J. so we can set a date. I also have to ask him if he can mix the album together for me...I'm sure that'll cost an arm and a leg but it'll be worth it. I was a little apprehensive on how the songs would turn out and how they would sound together, but so far I've been completely satisfied with the results. As hoped, the title track is a smash. The excitement is building..!

ENTRY 84: A Couple of Days -- The Bad & The Ugly
I've been taking a really close look at the last few days. because I wanted to make sure that all my views were in perspective, and that I wasn't jumping to any conclusions. Despite the fact that a lot of positive things happened over the weekend, I ended up in a sort of funk on Monday morning, one that has yet to completely wane.
I just found out that my parents -- led by my mother -- are back to their "old ways" so to speak. In the past if there was something that i owned that caused a conflict, say a pair of jeans that they didn't like (this occured quite a bit), they would simply get rid of the object behind my back. For instance, I would put the pair of jeans in the wash, and subsequently never see them again. It's an utterly infuriating practice, especially when I try to confront them on the matter and they, rather unconvincingly, deny everything.
I know what you're thinking: maybe I'm just being a little paranoid. Believe me, there have been many times where I have second-guessed myself when it came to things like this. But second-party members would mention that my mom, before the mysterious disappearance of the object in question, had told them that she would indeed take the object. Similar to this, I once applied for a credit card at CIBC. I never actually saw the credit card, but one day my mom came up to me and said that there was no reason for me to have one. Subsequently, bills started to pop up under my name; my parents had not only taken my credit away from me, but were now using it for themselves.
In any event, I thought such ruses were in the past, but recently two pairs of my jeans have disappeared, as well as a box of cheques that were mailed to me by CIBC. I don't want to jump to conclusions. Rather, I sincerely hope that my parents are not at fault, but I just don't know.

ENTRY 83: A Couple of Days -- The Good
I am happy to report that I have successfully survived my first week of classes here at UTSC. Not like that should come as any sort of surprise; after all, I am in my fifth year and taking primarily electives. Nevertheless, a couple of the courses may present challenges in the future, a fact I have mixed feelings about.
These past few days, and I say this at the risk of sounding like a PMS-ing pubescent, have been an physically trying and have flung me across the entire emotional spectrum and back again. Saturday was my church's Community Fun Fair, in which Mayor Miller and Pinball Clemens showed up as guests -- the planning committee made sure to invite these community heros, but despite my request, forgot to invite the BISHOP. We are a CHURCH, people!!!
I was the Rides Coordinator, which meant I had to run around to all the rides and makes sure that they were being well-supervised at all times. I was also in charge of relieving volunteers and announcing shift changes. The job would have been a whole lot easier if I had gotten the promised walkie-talkie, but as it turned out I had to run around the whole premises searching for other to communicate my needs with. It was a gruelling 12-hour day, and at the end of it all I was beat. Nevertheless, the Fun Fair was an immense success; we attracted over 2000 people (we were hoping for at least 500 or so), and who knows how much money we made.
Yesterday I recorded the title track for my EP, and I have to say that the session went smoothly and i ended up with a well-made, quality song. Only one more song to record and the album is done! Woo hoo so excited! I've started to work with Photoshop on the album cover, and that's coming along well. Things are shaping up!
There were some negativities, but I'll get to those later. For now...c ya!
